 SILS)\,  and Elettra – Sincrotrone Trieste are proud to announce the 18
 th edition of the School\n“Synchrotron Radiation: Fundamentals\, Methods
  and Applications”\nThe 18th edition of the school will be held at Muggi
 a (Italy) from the 21th  of September to the 1st of October\, 2026. Muggi
 a is a lovely old town on the gulf of Trieste not far from Elettra-Sincrot
 rone Trieste\, a multidisciplinary international research center specializ
 ed in synchrotron and free-electron laser radiation and their applications
  in material and life sciences.\nThe school is dedicated to the memory of 
 prof. Gilberto Vlaic\, who founded in 1990 the first SILS school held in S
 ardinia that was followed by biannual editions. Prof. Vlaic was one of the
  pioneers of the X-ray absorption spectroscopy and contributed significant
 ly to its development and its multiple applications.\nThe school is in pre
