7ItalOZ: Advanced light sources for medical and life science imaging and analysis

The Australian Synchrotron and Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste have many common interests and scientific goals. Over the years, there has been significant co-operation, with staff and users performing complementary and collaborative experiments at each other's facility. We have therefore decided to hold a workshop to discuss in detail areas of common interest, to focus on some hot research topics, and to think about the future.

The workshop will be held on the 6th and 7thof April, and will focus on synchrotron based imaging for life sciences and medicine, fields in which both synchrotron light sources excel. As well, there will be contributions on novel and advanced light sources, such as Free Electron Lasers, and contributions from researchers using conventional x-ray sources.

This is the seventh in a series of thematic Italian-Australian workshop on synchrotron radiation, and the venue is the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste.

Registration is free, but the number of seats is limited by the size of the lecture hall. The conference dinner is free for speakers, but others must pay at the time of registration.
