Following the tradition of the EWEG/2D series, the 6th edition of the workshop will provide a forum for the materials science community to evaluate and discuss challenges and opportunities provided by the class of 2D materials grown epitaxially on suitable substrates.
The focus will be on the broad manifold of 2D materials (graphene, boron nitride, phosphorene, transition metal chalcogenides, the new generation of 2D topological materials such as stanene, plumbene, bismuthene and tellurene, MXenes, oxides, nitrides and carbides) and on their derivatives based on assemblies of different 2D layers disposed in plane or arranged in vertically stacked architectures. Also the properties featured by chemically or structurally engineered 2D layers will be addressed.
The broad range of topics will include emerging research dealing with fundamental experimental and theoretical investigations of growth, electronic and transport properties, magnetic and optical properties, spintronics, impact of strain and defects distributions, catalysis, energy harvesting and storage.
